    This Customer is trying to misuse the resources available to consumers. His truck was brought to use for an ECU calibration which requires us to meet the vehicles full mechanical limits and adjust the ECU operation settings. Before this can be completed, we perform a thorough Vehicle inspection to make sure it is safe to operate. During the inspection we found multiple issues, so we had to contact him to go over everything. He told us he did not have the money to fix the issues, things were tight and it was close to Christmas. I offered to fix minor problems FOR FREE to help him out so he would not have to stress. Well, one issue was his truck could not be completed on the day of appointment because the problems found, and we have a schedule that we go by. Because of this carrying into later days, we had to work in the truck as we could and there was a week I was personally out sick so it ended up being at our shop longer. He was told a mechanics lien would be pursued if the invoice was not paid because he came during the night and removed the vehicle from out property without us knowing or without paying the invoice. We have never been known to lie or cheat our way into a paid invoice. He stated that we over charged him for fuel and did not re fuel the truck enough, but we still have the fuel receipt that proves we charged exactly what we had paid as well as we purchased the same amount of fuel that was drain from the vehicles tank so we could use 93 octane. We still have the old fuel we drained which was 10 gallons, exactly what we put back in it. After he took the vehicle without us knowing I personally told him he either needed me to finish the calibration or let me flash the stock settings back so he could operate his vehicle, but he refused therefore putting the vehicle at risk for damage. We can supply copies of his invoice, fuel receipt, and a copy of the invoice for the A/C Belt. He was quoted $550 for the calibration alone, but was only charged $250 ( 2 licensing credits & base calibration) since the job was not completed. His total bill was $420.43. Also, the invoice does not reflect any labor charges for the time spent finding leaks, buying hardware to install a missing ground strap, checking the spark plugs for proper gap etc, only for 1 hr labor to drain and refill fuel. He even told me to take a few days to consider trading a car I own for his truck so he did not have to deal with the truck anymore. This customer had no full knowledge of vehicle mechanics which we found once seeing incorrect hardware was used on some engine accessories, Engine ground strap still in front seat with no bolts, ac belt off, Coolant and Transmission fluid leaks, Low brake fluid, etc. He, just like many got in a rush only to not properly finish getting the truck operational. We try to help everyone we can, but clearly being willing to go the extra mile these days will get you no where. We are willing to provide any additional information about the matter that may be needed to show these accusations are false. We asked him to come get a paper copy of his invoice & the fuel receipt, his old fuel, and engine cover that he left behind, but he would not return for them.
