My husband and i were looking for affordable auto mobile insurance. On 04/03/2023, my husband went to Cost-U-Less Insurance Center located @ ********************************* Sre. 10, West Sacramento, ** *****, where he spoke with *******************************. He explained to her that we were looking for full coverage insurance on our vehicle and he was told that they were not offering full coverage for most vehicles and the companies that were had inflated the cost. We were also looking for renters insurance. After it was all said and done he was offered the two policies with a monthly payment of $57.30 for auto and $13.67 for renters. i work out of town, but I'm making all the payments and im aware that there would be some initial cost and I didn't have a problem with that. On 04/03/2023 there was a charge for $100.00 and another for $112.00 and he told me the would be another charge of $200.00 of the 04/17/2023 for another $200.00 and i asked what that was for and he wasn't sure. On 04/17/2023 i got a notification that twoo charges for $200.00 were deducted from my checking account from **********************. My husband called the broker who prepared the policy but there was nobody in the office answering the phone so he went to the office personally and there was nobody there. He waited until finally someone came out the back and let him in. He asked about the charges and couldn't get an explanation but was told the $200.00 would be credited to the account. It hasn't and we cannot reach anybody at the location. I'm home and looking at the original charges: Down Payment to Carrier $16.17, Broker Fee $228.83, Documentation and Copy Fee $40.00 and Split Payment Fee $15.00, Totalling $300.00, that's not including what's being charged *************** Insurance. and want to know why these fees are so high, cannot be explained and why the fees are costing almost as much as the six months of coverage.
