We bought our miniature schnauzer from Teapup in June. We received pictures a couple of times and were impressed by their communication. Teacup was not my first choice as a breeder, but my husband liked them. When we went to pick him up (a 3 hour drive) and walked into the reception room I was immediately taken aback by the smell and dirty reception area. It was not what I was expecting from the pictures. They did give us all his vet history and went over what he was eating, etc. They finally brought him out to us and I immediately noticed he was not excited to see anyone and was overall indifferent to being held. I thought this was odd. There was a grooming/washing area behind the reception area and when the door opened my daughter said all she could see were rows and row of kennels/crates. I could not wait to leave. I am convinced at this point it is a puppy mill. I have gone back and looked at the remaining schnauzers and there are still some that have been sitting in crates and kennels for months. Im concerned these pups will be taken to kill shelters or pet stores to be sold. I would like to report them, but you need concrete proof, which I do not have. Our pup was extremely hard to potty train and it was as if he didnt know he needed to go outside to potty. He craves to be outside and at first it was like a whole new world to him. I can tell he wasnt out much or played with. He never whined or cried at night at all and slept for 10hrs straight the first two weeks as if he never had a full nights sleep. I do not recommend buying a pup from here and keeping them in business. I love our dog with all my heart but I also feel it was a rescue mission.
