I purchased tires from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in April of this year to be installed onto my car. Goodyear sent a mobile installation van to my house to install the tires. After the appointment had been completed and the employee had left, I noticed damage to the rims of my car. I reached out to Goodyear to ask if the damage was noted on their end. They said they have no record of them causing damage. I asked for before and after pictures to prove that they did not cause the damage to my wheels and they provided some pictures that the tech had taken. The entirety of the work are was not documented in the before pictures, on the after pictures. After examining the pictures, a member of the Goodyear property damage claims team, ***** *******, reached out and said the damage was not from Goodyear. I have found proof that they did inflict the damage in the pictures that they sent, however Mr.******* disagrees. I had been going back and forth with them for about 2 months until they finally stopped responding. ***** went through many excuses of what the damage was from. First claiming there was no damage, then claiming it was curb rash, then claiming it was already there before. I spent 239.78 on the two tires that were installed. I would like Goodyear to pay for the repair of the damage they caused to my rims.

      Hello,

The Goodyear Property Damage Claims Team received pictures from the customer and the Goodyear location of the damage wheels in question. Looking at the pictures from the customer and the Goodyear location, the wheels look to have curb damage. Curb damage is the result of the wheels/rim hitting the curb of the road or the sidewalk. See attached pictures.

      Thank you,

      Goodyear Property Damage Claims Team,

I am rejecting this response because:

The damage referred to by Goodyear is damage that was already present before the service. I am not disputing the curb damage that was already present on the wheels. The damage I am referring to was not mentioned in the response by Goodyear. I have included pictures highlighting in red the damage I am disputing. The other two pictures are a before and after of the same spoke in the same wheel. You can tell by the unique black mark on the wheel that it is in fact  the same spoke being pictured. The before pictures shows an obviously old tire and no damage on the wheel. The after picture shows an obviously new tire and damage on the wheel. The damage I am referring to is approximately 1/4 inch from the edge of the wheel where the spoke meets the outer rim. Edit: I was not able to attach the pictures after trying 2 separate methods. I would like an email address of someone I could send the pictures to in order to fully explain my claim.

On 9/3/2024 I purchased a set of 4 Goodyear Wrangler Steadfast tires for my vehicle. According to the dealership website as well as the Goodyear website, these tires were eligible for multiple rebates if completed before 9/30/2024. On 9/18, I submitted all rebate forms and was denied each rebate. First rebate was for $125 if I used the Goodyear credit card. I applied for, was approved, and received my Goodyear credit card. Upon submission of my rebate I was told that I could only be eligible for that specific rebate if tires were purchased at a 'verified Goodyear' dealer. This was not stated anymore in the rebate disclaimer or details. Second, I filled out a $100 'base rebate' and was again denied. This time I was told that I did not purchase my tired through a 'recognized' dealer. Again these specific requires were nowhere listed on the disclaimer or details of the rebate on the Goodyear website. All together, Goodyear advertised a total of $225 in rebates in order to lure me into buying their tires and then refused to uphold payment of the rebates for reasons that were nowhere written or stated in the agreement. The rebate offer number on their website is #******. This is a very deceitful tactic that Goodyear used to falsely advertise a promotion and then refuse to pay to the customer. My payment for the tires has been paid in full by myself.

I purchased tires in January. Had the rebate info and opened credit card to get 250 rebate. I check today on the rebate because I didn't receive it. They screen shot pic. of the rebate number I found the email to be wrong. So this is why I didn't response back and the person on the phone said that email looked good, but I tried to send a test email to the wrong one and it could not be delivered. Now they tell me I can't get the rebate because they closed the rebate offer. There are way to verify emails. They could have called and didn't.

      Good morning,

We have reached out to the customer and the location where customer purchased his ********************************************* in regards to not receiving his rebate. Unfortunately the rebate department did not receive all the documents needed to fulfill the customers rebate request. The email listed on customer form was not the correct email so customer had no way of knowing status and then missed the deadline for the rebate. Goodyear has determined to issue the customer a check for rebate amount he qualified for which is $175.00. We have contacted the customer and he has approved the amount and resolution.

      Have a great day,

On 07/08/24 i took my car in for service at Goodyear. When it was done, I picked up my car ( 2017 honda civic si ) from Goodyear. I drove my car down the street about 100 yards and my oil guard under my car fell off on the highway. I called Goodyear back and told them what happened and they said bring the car back and they will fix it. So I brought it back and they fixed it but it was all scratched up underneath, and I just bought this car and had it shipped in from oahu it only had 35,000 mi it was just about new I only had it a couple days. The guy who worked on my car said sorry, he put it on backwards, so I said ok and drove off. We'll a week later I started hearing funny noise coming from my engine, just a little so I didn't think nothing of it, but it started getting worse as time went on. I work far away so I drive to work about 130 mi a day give or take. About a month goes by and I see the low oil pressure light come on, so I check my engine oil at work and found out there was no oil in my motor!! I took a video and called Goodyear and the manager said he'll refund me and check the car for damages, I took it to Goodyear n they service it again n they said everything was good, but I said I'm going to get a second opinion and took my car to honda to have it check. Honda said there was major damage due to not having oil in car ( i have the receipt and recommendations which cost $8842.49 to fix). I took the results to Goodyear and from that moment on they gave me a hard time and basically said it's not there fault and there not going to fix it!!! I just bought this car, I made a loan for it, I don't have any way of going to work, I can't afford to fix a problem that Goodyear caused by their negligence by not putting oil in my brand new car, I just want my car the way it was when I first brought it to Goodyear new and running good, thank you very much.

I am rejecting this response because:

I personally feel Goodyear didn't hold up on their obligations to service my vehicle. In fact, they actually damaged my vehicle by not doing their job and putting oil in my car! If they did their job,  we would not be in this situation! In conclusion, all i want is for my car to be exactly the way it was when I first brought it to Goodyear!!!

I got scammed by Goodyear. I signed up for **************. When my tires were damaged, I took them to ************ Goodyear and they wouldn't honor my tire insurance. I had to pay full price for another tire since they wouldn't honor the insurance. I never got to use any of the tire insurance because the Goodyear locations would not honor the insurance even though the insurance policy was valid. I want a refund on my Goodyear credit card for the tire insurance charges. Take the tire insurance charges off my credit card!

My receipt for the purchase of tire insurance is on my Goodyear credit card statement. There was no voicemail left if they did call. Also, they have access to the GoodYear credit card statements, and the charges for the tire insurance on there. They can provide this info to me and BBB. I attempted to get this info from the statements and I was not allowed by the GoodYear credit card company to obtain these past statements that had the tire insurance charges on them. Also, I bought the tire insurance in ************, **, so I'm not sure why this was forwarded to BBB Akron when it's so far away from there.

This is from April of 2024 , still have not received the rebate card. I have spent lots of time on phone call getting the runaround , two calls told me they have no record of me , another says the card was mailed, yet another says it was mailed to wrong address . I submitted what was asked for my rebate. I uploaded photos of the documents they asked for . They said it was approved. If something isnt right with an address then email me and figure it out . Im mot getting anywhere with Goodyear service , and I have 2 more sets of tires that qualify for the same rebate ,wondering if Ill ever get those rebates either .

I bought 4 brand new tires online from goodyear. i got them installed and kept hearing a sound. so i called goodyear open up a ticket and they sent me back to the shop where ***** road force balance the tires.. and sure enough one of the tires was defective.(brand new tire) less than 50 miles on ***** this point im disappointed with the tires not too mentioned that the reason i got the tires was because i was driving from ** to **. They sent a ***lacement tire to the shop and made me an appointment for 10am 9/12/2024. Everything was ready we just needed to get a goodyear *** on the phone in order to complete the process. The shop and i were on two different lines trying to get a hold of anybody at goodyear for more than 2 hours. since we could not get anybody on the phone i left the shop. day wasted. finally after another phone call an one hour later of being on hold i get someone on the phone but is too late since i left the shop over an hour ago. at this point im not interested in ***lacement. take your defective tires and give me a refund. this is unprofessional and lack of respect for customers as well as shop ****************************** is telling me they dont do refunds only warranty exchanges which is on their website. Ok no problem, i tried to work with this company, jump through hoops to fix the problem, and wasted my time for several days all because you sent me a defective tire. i agree to your warranty and so on but i dont recall agreeing to receiving defective tires and the fiasco that comes with it. this is inconsiderate and unprofessional and im force to deal with this and then keep jumping through hoops because you are shipping out defective tires. I dont wanna deal with your company anymore. i want my money back and you can keep your defective tires. whos going to reimburse me for my time being wasted and delaying my trip which is the reason i bought this tires in the first place.

I lease a 2023 Nissan Rogue. Lease began in May 2023. Had my car inspected March 2024 was told that the Goodyear Dunlop Grandtrek P21 tires on the car were at a 4 tread and would need to be replaced before the upcoming winter. The tires on my 10 month old car with 15K miles were at a 4 and needed to be replaced. 9/7/24 had tires rotation and oil change - now the tread is at a 3 and almost bald only have 18K miles. Called Nissan to lodge complaint to see if I could get some sort of compensation towards the new tires that I absolutely should NOT have to purchase yet. I was told no, they don't have anything to do with the tires themselves to call goodyear. Called GOODYEAR who I can not get on the phone - I've been left on hold three days straight for over 30 mins each time, they do not provide a tread warranty on this particular tire because they know they are crappy. Not one good review on this particular tire can be found! Nissan & GoodYear/Dunlop are okay with ripping off the consumer and putting these tires on new vehicles. These tires were first manufactured in 2020 when cutting products and costs to rip off the consumer became a thing. The fact that I have to replace the tires on my Rogue with less than 20K miles is absurd.

      Business response

      09/19/2024

I spoke with the consumer and directed her to a local retailer for a tire inspection.  The retailer will call with the tire inspection details.  We will process a mileage warranty shortfall and prorate the replacement set of tires.  The consumer accepted the offer.

On Thursday 9/5/2024 At 3pm I Called goodyear and asked if they were able to perform an oil change service on my Tripac Evolution APU. The advisor said yes, took my drivers information and would call him at 17:00 to start the work. 17:00 my driver pulls up and they start the work. At 18:03 My driver says they said something went wrong and can't get the unit to start and that they're checking fuses.... I thought it was weird that they would be testing fuses for an oil change.... At 20:20 my driver says the manager wants to talk to you, calls me from his phone and puts the Manager on. The manager says "Look, I'm really sorry, but if we continue to work on your APU We're going to seize up this engine, I will not charge for the PM. We do not have a master tech on site because they left at 17:00. the tech that did your oil change doesn't know where he went wrong" I asked if he tried to fill the APU from the top, because it is very bad if he did, he paused for a moment said he doesn't know... I asked for some kind of proof that my truck was there and what they did on it, because I was going to send them the repair bill. he said he understood and again was really sorry. He gave my driver those two copies I submitted.

We have been in touch with the location and will submit check payment refund. Upon further investigation, when the unit was serviced at our shop, we did not keep trying to start the APU after the fuse blew.  We do not stock that fuse, and one had to be ordered which came in the next day. From what we did on the service, we are not at fault for the alternator. I do feel responsible to pay the first initial invoice as promised to the customer and apologize greatly for our inexperience on this particular APU.

On July 3, 2024 I had a blowout on the right rear tire of my vehicle which was only 2 years old and only 22,000 miles. The blowout resulted in nearly $7,000 of damage to my vehicle plus the cost to replace the tire. I replaced the blown-out tire with the spare and went to the tire store the next day. They inspected the remaining tires and advised the left front tire had a ball/lump and the others were approaching the red, not good for service. I ended up replacing all 4 tires at their advice. I called goodyear who asked me to get 2 estimates for repairs and drop off both tires at a goodyear location near me who were to send the tires to Akron, OH for inspection. Goodyear decided to offer a rebate voucher for $212.00 for the tire with the ball but sent notice (file # *********) that they would assume no responsibility for the tire the blew out and caused property damage. These are all the same tires that were only 2 years old and 22,000 miles. I have sent goodyear the photos they requested and the estimates that I had to pay for as well as the receipts for the new tires I had to purchase. I do not feel I should be obligated to buy goodyear tires in order to use the vouchers and their quality is not there and no longer wish to outfit my vehicles with their brand or affiliated brands. I also do not understand how they can claim responsibility for one damaged tire but not the one causing property damage on the same set of tires.

There was no response, all they did was attach the same letter they sent me in the mail. Their quality assurance department is likely to blame.
