Subject: Unauthorized Credit Inquiry by EXETER FINANCE LLC/WCG Description of Issue:On September 6, 2024, EXETER FINANCE LLC/*** conducted an inquiry on my credit report without my knowledge or permission. I have not applied for credit or services with EXETER FINANCE LLC/WCG, and this inquiry is unauthorized. This unexpected inquiry has impacted my credit score and raised concerns regarding my privacy.Resolution Sought:I ask that EXETER FINANCE LLC/*** remove this inquiry from my credit report and provide an explanation of how this unauthorized inquiry occurred. Im looking for help in a resolution to my credit report as we see EXETER FIN is reporting bad inaccuracies to Experian and Equifax which is hurting my credit and violating many laws such as : 15 U.S. Code 1692c - Communication in connection with debt collection, 15 U.S. Code 1692g - Validation of debts, 15 U.S.C. 1681s-2 (A)(1) A person shall not furnish any information relating to a consumer to any consumer reporting agency if the person knows or has reasonable cause to believe that the information is inaccurate. also 15 U.S.C 1681 section 602 A. States I have the right to privacy Section 623(e). The **** prohibits information furnishers from providing information to a CRA that they know or have reasonable cause to believe is inaccurate. I would love that you follow the laws and report correct information and adjust these negative late payments and charges off showing on my credit report and correct to 100% paid as agreed like you are correctly doing on **********Business response

Exeter finance llc needs to work on their customer service. I have had to call in multiple times to make a payment arrangement, and requested due date changes due to financial reasons. I was only allowed one due date change. That was when I first got my car. It's been about five years now. Life situations have changed. I've tried to reason with them multiple times for a due date change, which would have avoided all late fees, extra interest charges, etc. Instead, they give you one due date change for the entire loan, and offer to push my current payment to the end of the loan with added interest. Forcing me to be stuck paying late fees and more interests rates longer than and more than the car is worth. I should be done paying for the car or almost close to being paid for, but with all these charges, I'll never be done paying for this car. They know they can help me and others, but they rather keep charging late fees, adding interest fees and who knows what other charges. They should work with their customers to help us, not make us fall.Business response

I called in to get a voluntary repossession and they said they did not have a timeframe for when it would be picked up. They said they are still waiting approval from the higher-*** before they can even send me paperwork to get it picked up. And then after that they need to send me the paperwork and when I send it back then I would still need to wait for someone else to call me to schedule a pick up. Again with no timeframe. Yet interest is still collecting on the vehicle waiting in them! It is just sitting there in the yard because I refuse to use it. If **** initiated a voluntary repo, The vehicle should not collect interest. I just need them to come take the car away or tell me where I can drop it off!Business response

On 9/20 ****** initiated return a payment to Exeter in the amount of $684.75 that is due to be refunded to me.On 9/23 I called the and told you the situation and updated my address. The *** said that was all I need to do.On 10/1 I called again just to make sure the address was updated. It was.On 10/9 I call to find out when would the check be cutting and the *** said the check was cut on 9/26 and that it went to the correct address.I called today on 10/14 and the *** said the check was never mailed and it was approved for payment on 10/10. So I called back with the Carmax Accounting *** to get some clarity on the check. We spoke with a supervisor who was unapologetically rude and blamed me for not updating the address and said the check was sent to the wrong address, when I did and double checked. I asked can I have the check overnighted to me and I pay for the ***** or *** she so no, I just need to wait for the check that was sent to the wrong address.I have attached the Receipt from CarMax for your review.I would just like to be given my refund of $684.75 without all the run around.This is unprofessional.Business response

I paid my car off a year ago. Exeter Finance refuses to go online to California DMV website and release the paperless title. I've placed many phone calls to Exeter and they tell me I have to fill out paperwork and send it. I already did that. California DMV tells me Exeter Finance has to go online to release the title. When I told DMV that Exeter Finance already made the attempt, that's what a manager at Exeter told me, the *** *** told me no effort was made in their system. It's been a year fighting this company for the title to my ****** this point, they should pay money to get the title to me ASAP.Business response

I have been making timely payments to this finance company online. I been making my payments online since I got my car in December 2023. In the month of May the company decided to reject my payment intentionally making me late and fall behind in my payments. They also accrued a late fee even before my payment was made. The balance on my loan has not gone down since I been making payments. While talking to a customer service representative today they claimed that the interest payments must be taking care of first. I asked how much the interest is. They could not give me a answer. This company is so stressful and have no respect whatsoever for its customers. I have been making my payments over the phone with a live person with the ***** dollars. I dont know how the are calculating these payments but this needs to be investigated.Business response

On 9/2/2024 I ******** an agreement to settle on this loan for $2300. They agreed to write off the remaining balance of $3133.30 as part of our agreement. I told them the warranty companu (Ally) sent them the wrong amount and will be sending th edifference. NO WHERE in the agreement does it say that if they receive an extra check they get to keep it. The agreement was for $2300 and WRTITE OFF the balance. So if you receive and extra $338 that is not part of the agreement. I paid my half of $2300 on 9/13/2024, the balance should of been written off that day. On top of that I have to pay taxes on this and you dont even have the correct amount in this paperwork NOW.Business response
