On 05/16/2023, in good faith, we wrote a check in the amount of $36,895.08 for kitchen repair due to water damage to ***** ******, owner of ******** *********************************************** LLC. The check was insurance money. ****, the contractor, assured us he could get the work done. The repair included replacement of the wood floor, kitchen cabinets and counter tops. The flooring was finally replaced in November 2023 ,however, the work was not done properly and not completed. **** said he would be back to finish and despite several reminders, has not been back. The cabinets were first ordered by **** through a company his "construction ****** recommended. Nine months later, after repeatedly asking for the delivery status of the cabinets and asking the name of the company hired to build the cabinets, **** reported the company went bankrupt. Then, **** said he ordered the cabinets from someone in *********. After months of asking about the status of these cabinets, we were told the cabinets would be ready by the end of March 2024. We kept asking when the cabinets would be delivered and kept getting excuse after excuse and no answer.**** said he could not get a delivery date and if we did not have the cabinets by end of May, they would recommend someone else. When asked for the name of the company, **** said it was a friend of his mothers. We have waited for a year and still no cabinets. We told **** we wanted a receipt for the flooring work already performed, which was not done properly, was not been completed, and a refund of the unspent insurance funds. We received nothing. We now have no choice but to get a loan to get this work done. On Wednesday, May 15, 2024, **** texted he deposited checks and the second it clears Ill be over with the money. That is the last we heard from ****, and he never returned our insurance money. **** stopped responding to our phone calls or text messages. We had to select a star rating. Otherwise, it would be no stars.
