This company was recommended by Advanced Auto Parts. I believe Advanced Auto Parts is their main provider for parts they use. Both companies stood to benefit from any parts recommended to repair my vehicle. It all started when I had a starter issue. I had a rapid clicking noise when I tried to start the vehicle. Right away Advanced decided that I needed a Battery. Once the battery was installed I had the same issue. The guy from Advanced saw sparks near my starter and decided it needed a starter. I, of course, am at the mercy of these guys. I have no tools, I am stranded. Advanced recommended K&F Auto would be a good choice for the repairs. They set up a tow and took my vehicle to K&F Auto. K&F Auto set me up with a loaner which was nice, but, not necessary. (My wife could have picked me up and I use her car.) So next I hear I need an alternator and a starter. I OK'd the repairs. After all my vehicle had no history of repairs like this and I assumed it was due. When the alternator was installed I picked it up and started home. Right way the steering was sluggish. I drove it back and they told me the alternator they just put in was causing the problem. They ordered the next alternator from Ford (Something about 3rd party faulty parts) It took a while to get it in and when it came in they installed it. In a day or two later the vehicle would not start in my driveway. They towed it back to the shop (Charged me for it) to further diagnose the issue. Then they tell me the instrument cluster was burnt out. They found a used one and I OK'd that part. When that part came in they informed me that someone needed to come in to program the replacement cluster to the vehicle and key fobs. I waited for that for a while. They called me and told me everything's OK now. I tested all I could on their lot and the remoted starter wasn't working. They told me there's nothing they could do after I brought it back in. I looked it up on YouTube and found some similar issues and when I told them they thought I should just fix it and let them know if it worked. Remember, I paid them to fix it! After a couple days the vehicle would not start again. They told me when I called in that there would be no charge to me for the repair this time. They said that I had a Body Module that went bad. They found a used one and told me Ford would not install used parts. Then proceeded to tell me that Ford has to program the part and that I would have to pay for the K&F Auto labor and Ford's labor to fix it. I'm thinking what happened to "It won't cost you anything for the repair this time"? So I gave them a bad review on their site anonymously and they called me in to berate me for doing that? So much for anonymous! They gave me an ultimatum, We can fix it or you can take it to Ford yourself. So, they just bailed on the whole deal. Today they told me they want their loaner back. I have no problem with the loaner. They didn't have to do that but really got pushy about the whole thing. Today, I will get my vehicle back, running, I hope, enough to drive it to the Ford dealer. Also, K&F was going to charge me $350 for labor + Ford's Fee for doing a diagnostic on my vehicle. K&F told me around $750 total. I called Ford and they told me $150 to put in my used Body Module part and program it. That's all. I am close to $1000 into this repair and it still isn't right! I do not recommend K&F Auto for repairs. I asked them to do an oil change in the midst of all this and my vehicle smells of burning oil. Very sloppy workmanship. Yesterday I went to pick up my vehicle. The inside of the vehicle was taken completely apart and left that way. You would at least expect them to return it to the condition it was in before they started pulling things out! I asked them to put it back in drivable condition and I would pick it up. What I got was no driving lights, no dash lights, no turn signals, no hazard flashers, It was running when I picked it up. I will never recommend them for anything to anyone. If I could leave no star I would.
