I worked with this lender to secure a loan for property. During the process I was asked to open an account and fund it with $500. The lender selected to go to an appraiser and their selected vendor provided an appraisal amount $70K below asking proce. All parties agents fought the appraisal and supplied comps that indicated the value of the property was much higher. The lender's appraiser remained with their original low ball value. This scutteled the deal. The lender then proceeded to charge me $450 for the appraisal even though we are not closing on the loan. I was not notified of this charge, I was not informed I would be responisble in any way, they simply withdrew this amount from the account they asked me to open without consultation. I feel this is a direct cash grab, this lender should bear the cost of their disatorous appraisal vendor, not I, how else are they to learn not to utilize the instituition in question? In addition this disater cost us our opportuinity to purchase this property. I want Wright Pat to refund this appraisal fee back to me. I also want to know why it is ok for them to ask for me to open an account to facilitate a loan when this is the exact behaivor other lendors have been sanctioned and fined for. In addition they are now attempting to keep the remaining $50 inmy account by not allowing me to close the account. They opened everything online and there is no branch within 50 miles of me, I should not have to travel to one of their branches to do anything.

      Good Afternoon *** **********,

Thank you for speaking with me yesterday. I appreciate the opportunity to better understand your complaint and do what I can to advocate for your situation.

It seems your complaint centered around the following items –

      1. Your experience with the appraisal - the final value and the cost and timing of the appraisal deposit.

      2. The account opening requirement and the ability to close the account.

First, after reviewing your situation, we have decided to refund the appraisal deposit back into your Wright-Patt Credit Union (WPCU) account.

Second, since we are a cooperative, any loan or deposit account that is created through our organization requires you to be a part of the cooperative. This requirement is not intended to trick you into additional services, it is only meant to ensure you meet the qualifications of a member, and therefor can receive WPCU services. In short, you must live, work, worship, or attend school in a county we serve to become a member.

Lastly, you mentioned to me that you were unable to close the account after this experience. You are correct that the online portal, which I believe you were using, does not have that ability. It is an activity that you must come to a location or contact us via phone to complete. I received your request via phone when we spoke yesterday and was happy to close the account and send the $500 in total via check back to the address on file. This action has been completed and you should be receiving this check in the mail shortly.

Thank you again for bringing this matter to our attention. If you have any additional questions in the future, please do not hesitate to contact me directly.

      Thank you,

I am writing to you as an informed consumer and an aggrieved applicant, in reference to the denial letter I received from Wright-Patt Credit Union titled "Notice of Action Taken and Statement of Reasons" in response to credit application #3313933. The statement cited "Escalating Debt" and "Limited Positive Credit History" on my personal credit report as the reasons for choosing not to grant my request for a vehicle loan. Both reasons are a result of me exercising my rights and was done in good faith. Your decision not to grant my request for a Vehicle Loan is an Adverse Action per 15 USC § 1691(d)(6) which defines Adverse Action as a denial or revocation of credit, a change in the terms of an existing credit arrangement, or a refusal to grant credit in substantially the amount or on substantially the terms requested. It further clarifies that such term does not include a refusal to extend additional credit under an existing credit arrangement where the applicant is delinquent or otherwise in default, or where such additional credit would exceed a previously established credit limit. Furthermore, I believe that this Adverse Action constitutes Discrimination and is in direct Violation of Federal Law pursuant to the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, in 15 USC 1691(a)(3), which states that it is unlawfulfor any creditor to discriminate against any applicant because the applicant has ingood faith exercised any right under this chapter. If we are not able to privately rectify this issue, I will be seeking to invoke my right to Specified Remedy of $10,000.00 in Monetary Relief for punitive damages, pursuant to 15 USC 1691(d). The above-mentioned Violation of Discrimination has a civil liability pursuant to 15 USC 1691(e)(a) (b), which states that any creditor who fails to comply with any requirement imposed under this subchapter shall be liable to the aggrieved applicant for any actual damages sustained by such applicant acting either in an individual capacity or as a member of a class. I would also like to take this opportunity to make a FOIA request for a certified copy signed under the penalty of perjury of the denied application, as well as any of the financial accounting records in accordance with GAAP that are connected to the application submitted. Failure to respond within 30 days of receipt of this certified letter may result in small claims legal action against your company at my local venue. I will be seeking a minimum of $10,000 in damages for such violation of discrimination pertaining to the Equal Credit Opportunity Act for me having exercised my rights in good faith in different aspects of credit transactions. Please Note: This notice is an attempt to collect remedy and any information received from you will be collected as evidence should any further action is necessary. This is a request for remedy only, and is not a statement, election, or waiver of status. I had placed a food order thru Uber eats In September..I have been customer of Wright Patt credit union for May years had few loans etc… but never been so disappointed with credit card dispute in my life .. We had placed an order for food thru Uber eats as mentioned and the order was I’m complete by half ..In other words half my food was missing I immediately got hold of Uber eats and advised them of my issue at which time they told me they could not help me .. It was Uber eats that took my money for a delivery service which was not fulfilled ..I told Uber eats I would go thru my bank and they would see the issue and make things right … Well I honestly feel Wright Patt visa stabbed me in the back .Uber eats disputed my claim of incomplete order and my credit card company sided with them .. I think I will be looking for another credit union at least one that will stand by its customers .. Very very upset very rarely have I had a dispute … I filled my complaint talked to few different customer service reps that seen my issue and agreed there should have been a refund .. They gave me a refund them turned around and took it back ..

Wright Patt allowed a merchant to charge my card $283.00 for Wix.com. The merchant charged my card 3 years worth of service that I did not sign up for. I file a dispute and Wright Patt is refusing this as fraud. I told them I did not sign up for this service. The merchant claim I enrolled in 2020 but I did not. I never enrolled and now they are take 3 years worth of services from my card. That does not make sure. Wright I refusing to assist and is allowing people to take money from my bank that I did not approve. I will be taking this to court if this is not resolved.

Sept 4th, 2023, fraudulent charges were made on my WP Visa Debit card. I have a letter from Walmart.com stating that my personal information was hacked including my WP Visa card and they will not refund fraudulent charges. I have provided this information to WPCU dispute services; however, they will not consider a dispute after many attempts and hours of phone calls and many different stories from many different WPCU associates even after this admittance from Walmart.com saying that these purchases were not made by myself. A police report was filed. And I will be disputing this with Walmart.com on BBB as well.
