On November 18, 2024 at approximately 4:25 pm, two people came to my door wearing IGS jackets. They first asked asked for Mr. ****** I told them that no one by that name lives here. They then asked for ******* ****** I informed them that he died ***** years ago (he was the former owner of this house). I informed them that I am on Fairborn's do not solicit list. They then lied and said they didn't see me on the do not solicit list. I informed them that 1)it's illegal for them to solicit to houses on the do not solicit list 2)that they must have a solicitation license to go door to door in ******** and 3)that they are now trespassing and need to leave my property ************** soon as I told them to leave my property, they started laughing at me and refused to leave. I had to scream at them to leave and I told them I'd call the police. They slowly left while laughing. This is illegal harassment. Since I am on the do not solicit list, it's illegal for them to even knock on my door. The lying about the list, laughing at me, and refusing to leave turned this into a quite hostile situation. These aggressive and illegal harassment techniques must stop.

Its a scam!!! I had someone from IGSenergy come to my door and said to me that my house has been flagged by ComEd and NicorGas and that he had to update it on his tablet (I just purchased the house this year on August 9th, 2024) & talked to me about lower rates. He requested my ComEd bill.which I provided not knowing the out come. I then mentioned that he entered my email wrong and he said he would fix it and never did so Im not sure what I signed up for..but after seeing all the complaints and bad reviews, I want to cancel anything that he made me sign up for.

2 door to door salesman came to my house at 3:30pm eastern time at ******************************************************************** on 10/31/24. The younger gentleman pointed to my no soliciting sign after knocking to show the older gentleman behind him, and the older gentleman shrugged his shoulders like he didnt care and the younger gentleman knocked a second time. I am a remote employee and this is absolutely unacceptable. I was in the middle of trying to take a recorded statement with a client while my dog is going insane at strangers on the front doorstep who dont pay attention to no soliciting signs and persist to knock after not getting an answer. I have this on footage and want them reprimanded. You do not get to disrupt others work lives for your own work.

I was signed up for this program without my consent. I never consented to have IGS as my energy supplier. I requested the signatures for the confirmation documents and they are not my signature. I was told that there was nothing they could or would do and that I would have to pay this $149 cancellation fee for both gas and electric. I would like to have these cancellation fee waive as I did not sign up for this service. Also this company harasses me multiple times a year soliciting services when I have a sign posted to not do so, stop sending your people to my address. My wife and I have been telling them No multiple times since 2022.

High pressure sales tactics and intimidation, as well as misdirection. Two salesmen, one named ****** ***** (card provided) knocked on our door around 2pm on October 2, 2024. Their affect was intimidating, demanding my wife provide them with an energy bill statement, as well as disseminating misinformation about "scams" at *********** and ******** when in fact, they were trying to scam my wife (I watched the interaction on a ring camera). My wife's statement: "2 men came to the door with ipads in hand. Neither introduced themselves or said who they work for. One did say that he was in training, which is why there were 2 of them. He had name and address information on our household (not the kids). Had ****** ****** listed 2 times, ****** ****** once, *. ****** and ***** ******. Each listing had our home address. He asked if we had spoken with any energy solicitors at ***********, ******* or somewhere else that I can't recall. I said not that I know of because I don't do the shopping. Asked if I noticed an increase in our electric bill recently. I said "no." He said, "I'm going to need to see your Duquesne Light bill." I told him that I don't have access to it. Then he gave me his card and said that they were making sure that we were not inadvertently signed up through a company that would double or maybe even trip our electric bill. And then they left."

Last summer in June I was approached at a retail store by a member of IGS energy company. They offered me a fixed rate lower than my current one at the time to be my supplier for ***. Two things I do not think were told to me were that I was not able to change if I found a lower rate for three years and that my rate they were offering me was not negotiable through this term. I signed my name on an iPad so obviously I was not able to read through the whole contract. Early termination fee was not something stressed to me or I think I would have remembered it. I feel they are trying to charge me $199 cancellation fee for electric and $199 again for gas even if the termination fee is nonnegotiable I dont feel it should be separate and again I dont remember agreeing to this fee.

      Business response

      10/01/2024

      Good morning,
IGS does not have agents in retail stores. Your accounts were enrolled with IGS on June 6, 2023, via a home energy agent.  An agent stopped by your home and was there for about 20 minutes on June 6, 2023. At that time, the agent would review with you the benefits of a fixed rate contract.
At the time it appears you had Just energy as your supplier for electric at .11 cent per kwh and gas at $1.18 per ccf. You locked in your electric rates with IGS at .0929 per khw for 36 months with an early termination fee of $149.00 and gas for a fixed rate of .924 per ccf for 36 months with an early termination fee of $149.00.
A copy of the terms and conditions was sent to your email address on June 6, 2023. You had 7 days to cancel the enrollment without a fee.
IGS received notice on 09-24-2024 that you are switching to another supplier for both your gas and electric.  At this time both early termination fees will stand, IGS will allow you to come back and finish out your contracts.

      Thank you,
      IGS Energy

Now I am really confused. In this dispute it says that the early termination fees stand and that they are $149 each for the gas and the electric. They are trying to charge me $199 each for the gas and the electric. I just feel this company is shady and now I don’t know what else they are lying about. Maybe for the $149 I would cancel just to get away from this company. How do I find out what the cancellation actually is? Can I hold them to the $149 they are  Quoting and their statement of the response to this matter?

      Sorry for the confusing.

I missed typed your cancel fee in my reply. The cancel fee should be $199.00. Since I made an error, IGS will charge $149.00 and waive the addition fee.

Our cancellation fees range from $99, $149 to $199 depending on the term of the contract.

In November 2021, I was sold a 25 year solar leasing contract for my primary residence by Vision Solar, who was hired by IGS Energy as a solar sales agent. As part of the sales pitch Vision Solar promised a one-time removal and reinstallation of the solar panels in order for me to replace my roof. They showed me a written contract, which I reviewed and saw the language on the free removal/reinstallation. IGS Energy then had me sign an electronic version that instead said that any removal/reinstallation would be at my expense. I now need to replace my roof (September 2024). When I contacted IGS Energy, the admitted that many customers had been promised the one-time-free removal/reinstallation by Vision Solar, but told me that Vision Solar is now out of business. IGS Energy refused to honor Vision Solar's offer, despite the fact that Vision Solar was their sales agent. IGS Energy IGS Energy has hand-selected an different contractor to remove/reinstall by panels so that I can have my roof replace, but they want to charge me $4,500. This amount represents about 10 years of savings I might see from my solar panels. I knew when I signed the solar contract that I would need to replace my roof within a few years, and would not have signed the contract if I thought I would pay for removal/reinstallation. Vision Solar is being sued by multiple states attorneys general for their business and sales practices. IGS Energy should have known that their sales agent was making such promises and should be at least partially liable for the actions of their sales agent.

On 9/18/24 a gentlemen parked in my driveway and knocked on the back door after looking all around that side of my house. They do this so that you answer the door. The problem I have is I was told by the company last year they would put me on the non solicitation list. Well that obviously didn't work. I told him to get off my property and he took his sweet time then he parked in the street in front of my house. I did not feel safe. I will call the authorities next time as I am sure there will be one. Trespassing and harassment.
