I purchased a Kabota 1000 in Jan &#**;23. It lasted until early Sep &#**;23. We discovered major H313032**3334303532H problems. We ordered a new H313032**3334303532H but to date have no clarity as to when we will receive this new part. We are currently making payments on a machine that cannot be used.

      Mr. ********,

I'm sorry to hear that you've been unable to get a replacement engine for your machine.  I tried to look up the machine that you might be talking about but I'm unable to find a machine registered to your name/address.  Can you please tell us the full model and serial number of the machine in question?  Please also tell us the name of the dealership where the engine is on order.  We will need to contact them to get an order number so that we can look into the order status.

My RTVXG850R has an issue with Campaign #PSB-2021-102 which caused damage to my RTV. After their repairs my RTV still has significant vibrations. After not accepting my RTV and requesting the vibration be addressed Kubota only authorized changing the tail pipe insert which apparently did not resolve the issue. At that time the Kubota representative decided that they would do no further repairs to remedy this issue. There was significant damage to the motor from the campaign which also caused smoking through the exhaust system. I did Not have vibration issues before the failure. So something from the intake pipe failure caused the vibration. All I can assume is that the motor is not running properly causing vibration or the exhaust system has issues. The mechanic stated that the muffler and sensor had to be soaked for a period of time due to the build up of the oil burning and smoking through the exhaust system. I contacted Kubota support on 2/6/2024 to try to resolve this issue and was told that they couldn't help me due to the fact that the decision is solely up to the one representative in this area. I was also told that he would contact that person (which I was not allowed to know their name) and get back with me. To date I have not received any more information. Since the damage to my RTV is due to a manufacturer recall (campaign) I would like it to be restored to it's previous condition which did not have vibration issues. Complaint: 21303826

I am rejecting this response because:

The field representative says that there is not significant vibrations on my Rtv.  I own and drive the machine and it did not have this vibration before the failure.  He was willing to change the tail pipe insert but when that did not fix the vibration issue it was decided that then it was not going to be repaired.  The vibration is not normal and if the representative would drive the machine the vibration is obvious.  I was told initially by the mechanic that the muffler is expensive and therefore they did not want to change it or the sensor out, although the oil burn through was significant enough to warrant soaking it in some chemical for days. This is an indication that either the motor or exhaust system is not repaired to prior condition.  Keep in mind the motor got so hot that the head had to be replaced.   Something is causing the excessive vibration and it is Kubotas responsibility to repair this complaint to prior status.

Purchased a Kubota New L3302 in 2023, on Sun 01/14/24, we parked it in preparation for snow removal on Mon/Tue when snow ended. On Mon 01/15/24, we started the tractor but as soon as the shift lever was touched it would shut off. Notified local dealership on Tue and tractor was picked up. The dealership stated the issue was corporate know engineering issue. Cold temperatures freeze the seat and will not allow seat safety switch to engage. They had been provided the instructions to drill holes into the seat to allow better are flow. The dealership returned the tractor on Friday 01/19/24 after sitting in a heated shop for apx 48 hr. I was able to move start and drive the tractor. On Sun 01/21/24, We started tractor to prepare moving snow and once again it shut off as soon as we touched shift lever. In formed local dealership and was told they did all they could do...........if KubotaUSA knows their equipment has an engineering flaw in their seat and/or seat safety switch, they should provide a permanent proven repair or properly engineered parts to allow operation of the equipment in cold weather. We were not notified during purchase the equipment would not operate below a specific temperature and have not found this information in the operator manual provided............KubotaUSA response was dismissive...........Personal corrective measures will take numerous hours of research, additional expense for electrical modifications, and possibly create unsafe operating conditions to allow the equipment to be used in cold weather.

I am rejecting this response because: Kubota has not addressed any replacement of seat and switch.......which would not resolve the situation as it would be the same defective engineering issue........local dealership stated Kubota did not have reengineered parts available and drilling holes was all that could be done...............this is a Kubota Engineering issue not a dealership issue.

      Business response

      02/02/2024

      ****************,

Just to be clear - the issue here is that water is getting into the seat and freezing, which doesn't allow the Operator Presence Control (OPC) seat switch to properly detect that an operator is sitting in the seat, thereby preventing the machine from starting.  Kubota engineering has determined that the best course of action when this happens is to enlarge the drain holes on the bottom of the seat to allow better drainage of the water so it does not have a chance to freeze.

The local area representative for Kubota has also suggested that this could be avoided by preventing the water from entering in the first place.  Either by flipping the seat forward when the machine is not in use or simply covering the seat with something waterproof (like a tarpaulin).  The Operator's Manual for your machine suggests storing the tractor in a place that's sheltered from the elements.  It goes on to say that if the tractor must be stored outdoors then it should be covered with a waterproof tarpaulin.

I am rejecting this response because: as the letter indicates, the defect is a Kubota engineering issue.........other Kubota's do not have this issue and neither does my other Kubota tractor.

This is a piece of outdoor agricultural equipment. it is suppose to be exposed to the elements.......if Kubota designed a seat and switch that does not work when wet or cold that is an engineering defect preventing customers from using the product for intended purpose.......Kubota leadership is obviously out of touch with the purpose of their product.

Kubota is welcome to reimburse me the total cost of the tractor or provide a properly working seat and switch.

You're correct, this is an engineering issue.  Perhaps I wasn't clear in my previous response - the dealership has been instructed to replace the seat with a modified version of the seat that allows better drainage.  They've also been asked to replace the seat switch.  Please use the tractor with the new seat and switch and let your dealership know if you continue to have issues.

I did call Capital Tractor and spoke to the service department.  They confirmed your machine is in their shop and it does have debris in the fuel tank that's clogging up the supply to the engine and preventing it from running properly.  As I mentioned previously, the Kubota Limited Warranty specifically says that contaminated fuel is not covered by the Kubota warranty.  Each of our dealers is independently owned and operated so I cannot speak to what might have been said to you at the time of sale.  If you have concerns about what was said to you at the time of sale, I would suggest you speak to your selling dealership.

      ****************,

The dealership filed a claim with Kubota for the fuel pump, saying only that it wasn't working.  If the pump failed because of debris in the fuel system then the dealership should not have filed a claim and Kubota should not have paid for the pump.  I don't know the exact sequence of troubleshooting events at the dealership but they did not indicate on the claim why the pump wasn't working.  My guess would be that the debris caused the pump to fail and Kubota shouldn't have paid that portion of the repair.  However, at this point I'm not going to ask the warranty team to reopen and review that claim so that you are not left with an additional bill.  My assumption of the remaining bill with the dealership is that you paid to have the tank removed and cleaned and also to have the fuel lines cleaned to ensure that all of the debris had been removed from the system.  If you'd like confirmation of that, please check with your dealership.

On 8/9/23, Kubota sent out for a repossession on a lawn mower in my name. I had tried multiple times to log on to pay my account and the log in portal was always broken. That does not justify for me not making my payment but for a business to offer that as payment method and for the system not to work, thats not ok. Back to 8/9/23, I was coming home from my husbands grandmothers funeral when I pulled into my home and a man was pushing my lawnmower from my carport. There were no vehicles around my house and the lawnmower was not running. He was pushing it with locked wheels. He came up to my front lawn where landscaped rocks are and drug my lawnmower over them causing damage to my landscape. My husbands work truck was parked in the area that would have been a clear path but he was currently still at the funeral home and I couldnt move his vehicle. The man came from around my house and asked my name and said he was there for the lawnmower. I was a little shocked because again, no vehicle was around the area. He told me he had to pull the mower out because he could not leave without it. He grabbed a strap off the back of my truck, made me back my own truck up and jumped on the back of it stepping on my sons fishing pole and breaking it and then told me to drive him to his vehicle a quarter mile up the road. I told the man that I wanted to call and confirm everything and he told me it would do no good that as soon as everything processed, I could pay whats owed and be able to obtain the mower back. I left it at that and called on 8/11/23 and spoke to a man at Kubota. He explained that the mower was not completely processed yet and confirmed that I would be able to pay the balance owed along with repo fee and get my mower back. On 8/17 I called again to see if everything was processed and was then told that I would not be able to get it until the amount owed was paid with an additional close yo ***** dollars! I was lied to on multiple occasions.

If I call, they say that my account is paid ahead, but they can not unlock it. I have emailed every month to get access. They have not helped. I have not seen a statement in over 2 years. I signed up for online statements so I don't get statements since I don't have aces!! The company does not help, does not answer emails. I have tired for over two years to get this corrected and they have done nothing. I have threatened to report them several times, they just ignore it. When I do speak with someone, they tell me the reason I am locked out of my account is because I pay with my bank and not through their system. They could be charging me late fees, and I dont know it. I dont know what my balance is. They could be over-charging on finance fees and I wouldn't know it and could be at a point I could not fight it because I am well beyond my time limit to fight it because they are hiding my account.
